On Friday, June 29th, MUSE hosted techno pioneer John Tejada for a second time. Rather than a simple DJ set, John prepared a special live hybrid set consisting of… “pieces of other artist’s music. A chord line from a 69 record, a Basic Channel beat, a kick drum I’ve made and some hardware box to play some synth lines along. It’s sort of the best of both worlds for me.”

The “hardware box” John ended up bringing was one of the most recognizable and controversial pieces of electronic music gear ever made, the Roland TB-303. The 303′s distinct “Acid” sound has been a staple of electronic dance music for over 20 years, and John played his masterfully during his time on stage. You can check out his new and different approach for yourself, as we recorded his entire set from MUSE. For those in the know, if you listen closely, you might find a few cuts from his forthcoming album on Kompakt, “The Predicting Machine”.

A special thanks goes out to John Tejada for giving us permission to release this unique and special set for all to enjoy.
