3 Q to MISS MELERA:

Q) Festival summer is coming. Is there a special festival you´re really looking forward yet? What´s your favorite place?

A) My festival season started already in March. I played at DGTL Festival in Amsterdam and it’s always one of my personal highlights in the past years. The location, the atmosphere and the crowd from all over the world. It was amazing to be part of it again. This weekend we are celebrating the closing weekender of Shoeless and maybe it sounds a bit strange but I’m really looking forward to it. This festival is unique, started 10 years ago in Amsterdam, always like the name is telling you: People have to go barefooted. They have become more popular and bigger but it feels always intimate. They never announced a line up – it’s an overall experience. Now they have decided to close their book. With a lovely statement: Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.

Q) Tell us more about your COLOURIZON series

A) I was asked by an online american radio station (Proton) to create my own monthly show. This started 3,5 years ago and nowadays you can listen to my Colourizon show on various radio radio stations worldwide. In the past years I did some special events during Amsterdam Dance event and this year I found a new home in one of my favourite clubs at the moment in Amsterdam: De Marktkantine. Colourizon is about colours and horizon… two things that are important in what I do. But it’s never a clear definition. I prefer that people can experience it and define it theirselves in a visual sense and let it grow from there. Look around, open your eyes and widen your horizon. You can choose it yourself. It’s broad enough for that and it can go in many directions. The direction can be very open but the sound that I bring gives a certainty melodic house where I am standing for.

Q) What´s coming up musicially – any releases planned for this year?

A) It’s always a surprise when the next release is coming up, haha. I’m trying to spend more time in the studio besides touring and Colourizon. At the moment I’m working on a remix for Ron Flatter. After three EP’s and one collaboration with my friends Eelke Kleijn, Olivier Weiter and Arjuna Schiks it´s my first remix project. It’s an interesting experience and I’m really enjoying it. Release date? Hopefully around September. And beside this I’m working on new originals. Stay tuned ( ;
