Rene Mascarpone (more recently Rene) aka. Zsolt Minich started his dj career with collecting minimal and tech 12”s back in 2006. Shortly after that he got busy with launching the event series called Random Surprise in September 2007 with vinylist friend Wacther and two VJs Thief and Fekete Jee.

He was also a co-founder of another underground collective named Cabaret made up of Swain, Wachter, Detective Kelly, Rene himself and Thief as the resident visualist. In 2010 they joined forces with fellow organizer group Stayfly and invited Stimming during the summer. The next year they held a very successful repeat of the first joint event on the A38 boat with Stimming and Solomun on board.

In the early summer of 2011 he accepted his friend Bios’s invitation to join Loud!Society and having the same obsession about collecting and playing out 12”s they picked the subtitle ‘Vinyl Squad’.

Since 2009 he is a recurring guest at Hungary’s underground flagship radio Tilos playing week by week alongside Sinko in their Hotel North Pole show and in other shows as well. Since 2006 he played alongside some of the Budapest underground scene’s most respected figures including Naga & Beta from Hairy, Chrom & Crimson from Lick The Click / ikz, Faktor X and had a chance to present his skills on bigger festivals like Balatonsound and Alkototabor – Camp For Minimal Music Lovers. He drove crowds crazy in almost every noteworthy Budapest based underground club and appeared in more mainstream line-ups and even in other Hungarian cities like Sopron and Szeged too. His main influences are Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk, the 80’s synth pop and new wave – dark wave. His early favorites were the Poker Flat releases, later the Crosstown / Diynamic / Hot Creations sound. Nowadays he finds himself in Detroit-Chicago-Acidhouse, the 80s-new wave sound mixed with tech-deep-house-based weird sound and some (maybe nu-)disko thing. Blood is thicker than water! :) He’s a great entertainer as a person and full of surprises as a DJ. While he sometimes alloys tracks of firmly diverse styles he still stays authentic. Definitely worth to check out the funny wax lover!
