Phil Weeks – Trace A Line (TAL059) – 14-10-2011,

This week we host a heavyweight and mainstay of the French house scene, some guy named Phil Weeks who pleased us by recording our 59th podcast. With the wealth of fourty EPs and two quite well reviewed LPs, Phil Weeks is in my opinion one of the last real house music sticklers in France, loyal to his old school influences and to the the illustrious TR-808, 909 and other old hardware that characterize his glowing productions.
During the first ten years of his career, he went through almost all the different aspects of deep and tech house, and stepped into several huge underground structures such as Adult Only, 2020 Vision, Brique Rouge, Magnetic Recordings and last but not least, Robsoul, the label he created in the early 00’s and which just celebrated its 100th release a few weeks ago. Ten years hosting lovely names such as Derrick Carter, David K or even DJ Sneak, allowing Robsoul to set itself among the most respected and renowned house labels out there. By the way, Phil is currently preparing his third album due for early 2012, while throwing the monthly Get Underground parties at the Rex Club, where he often plays in solo or with his buddy Hector Moralez as Fries & Bridges. Also don’t forget to check out his Youtube channel called Underground Chronicles, where he regularly posts videos showing us his studio sessions, his travels and his passion for weed.

Concerning the mix I should probably tell you right away that if you’re not into sax samples and old school vocals, you might be disappointed. But if you don’t belong to this category, just put on your headphones and get ready for one hour of pure awesomeness.
